Yoga, Mindfulness, Meditation, Healing, Wellness for children, adults, families, all ages

Through awareness and collaborative engagement of the body, mind, and inner wisdom, each of us has the capacity for greater growth and success, as well as a stronger connection with ourselves and our community.  INA Wellness believes a cornerstone to better health is developing that connection -- the inner-connection of mind, body and self and the interconnection of our selves to the world around us.  INA Wellness celebrates the "I iN All," the INA-woven nature of our selves and our Universe and the power we have to heal and grow together.

"The earlier we learn to deal with our stress, the better our health will be as adults."

-- Dr. Reed Moskowitz, Stress Disorders Clinic, NYU Medical Center

The physiological consequences of stress build up over years and decades. The Center of Integrative Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University conducted a study that found that levels of the stress hormone, cortisol, decreased after a single session of yoga, even in first-time participants.  Reducing stress through the mindfulness-based behavioral health programs provided at INA Wellness, including yoga, meditation, and the arts, can improve physical, social and emotional well-being in children and adults. INA Wellness offers private and group yoga & mindfulness classes, educational training and workshops, and programs to provide you with tools to unlock your inner greatness and to better connect with and strengthen yourself and your community. We truly believe that learning is a lifelong process and that yoga and mindfulness education can take place safely and effectively among people of all ages, all body types, and all styles. It's just a matter of matching your  needs with one of our creative and dynamic classes or workshops. Discover the benefits and joys of learning through yoga and mindfulness with INA Wellness.

Create calm and cultivate confidence, focus,  strength, joy, resilience, and peace within yourself and your community through the creative, dynamic, powerfully effective educational programs at INA Wellness.

Expert Educator & Trainer in Yoga & Mindfulness Education

Our Founder & Director

LISA DANAHY (ERYT-200; RCYT-200, RCY-95, YACEP)  is the founder and director of INA Wellness. She is also a seasoned and highly successful professional in management, education, and leadership.  At the core of her success is a rich and fulfilling yoga practice.

Lisa began her yoga journey in the early 1990’s. Recognizing immediately the physical benefits of yoga and gradually uncovering its profound spiritual dimensions, Lisa was moved by her practice of Kripalu Yoga. In 2011, Lisa completed her 200-hour certification in Pranakriya Yoga, a classic form of Hatha yoga taught in the tradition of Swami Kripalu. Shortly thereafter she obtained additional certifications in Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra ®, Dynamic Gentle Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Kripalu Yoga in Schools, and Radiant Child Yoga.  She most recently completed the Radiant Child & Family Yoga 200-hour yoga teacher training and through private instruction with Shakta Khalsa, the founder of Radiant Child Yoga, has become a Radiant Child yoga teacher training facilitator.
Lisa is a published author on yoga and mindfulness education, most recently completing a five-article series that appeared in Teaching Young Children, a publication of NAEYC.  Her long-time interest in serving adults and children is supported by a BA in Psychology and over 30 years of experience as an educator, former school administrator, and human resource manager. Lisa now leads private and group classes for students of all ages and off-site trainings and workshops for schools, businesses and organizations throughout the DC area as the founder and director of INA Wellness and as an instructor at Dream Yoga Studio in McLean, VA, M Street Yoga, in Washington, DC, and The Happy Yogi in Fulton and Olney, MD.
Lisa believes that yoga is a building block for creating a community of active, aware, and compassionate citizens. Yoga is a practice that brings strength, joy and richness to live. Whether in corporate team building, developing cultural competencies, or inspiring individual growth, Lisa weaves yoga into lesson plans and workshops to create real, active, and substantive learning experiences for all of her students. Lisa aspires to be, in the words of Swami Kripalu, a "Pilgrim of Love" and is committed to improving health, enhancing resilience and building community through yoga and mindfulness education.
